Eligibility

Those of non-Japanese nationality to which 1 or 2 below apply as well as 3 and 5 or 4 and 5 (Department of Global Management Studies only)
  1. Those who graduated (will graduate) from a 12-year program at an educational institution within a foreign education system between April 2018 and March 2020

  2. Those with International Baccalaureate, Abitur, Baccalaureate or GCE A Level foreign university certification (acquired less than two years prior)

  3. Those who have taken the 2019 or 2018 Examination for Japanese University Admission administered by Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO)
    ・Faculty of Global Management Studies: Japanese (required), mathematics or general education (choose)
    ・Department of Food and Health Sciences, Faculty of Health and Human Development: Japanese, mathematics, and science (all required)
    ・Department of Child Development and Education, Faculty of Health and Human Development: Japanese (required), mathematics (required), science or general education (choose)

  4. Those who have received an initial offer from the university in the April 2020 Japan University Examination administered by the General Foundation of Japan-China-Asia Educational Medical Cultural Exchange and have completed (or will complete) the preparatory educational program

  5. Those who can submit an official certificate of English ability (Level 2 or higher on Eiken Test in Practical English Proficiency, 500 points or higher on GTEC, 675 points or higher on GTEC [3 skills version], 675 points or higher on GTEC for STUDENTS [L&R&W], 1,000 points or higher on GTEC CBT, 4.0 or higher on IELTS, 226 points or higher on TEAP, 45 points or higher on TOEFL [iBT], 550 points or higher on TOEIC [L&R], PET or higher on Cambridge English, Grade C or higher on United Nations Associations Test of English recommended)

Method of selection

Selection is based on a comprehensive consideration of documents (diploma, transcript, reasons for applying, etc.), essays, and interview (including oral examination in the case of the Department of Food and Health Sciences, Faculty of Health and Human Development).
