On November 1 (Sat.) and 2 (Sun.), seminar students led by Professor Ryohei Nakagawa of the Faculty of Global Management Studies and the Embassy of Costa Rica in Japan jointly held an event to raise awareness of the Republic of Costa Rica.
On the 1st (Sat.), a booth was exhibited at the “World Festa in Nagano 2025” hosted by Nagano City, and on the 2nd (Sun.) at the university's school festival, where exchange events were also held.
At the booth, Costa Rican country reports written and edited by seminar students and maps of Costa Rica were distributed, children enjoyed games and coloring pictures, and specialty coffee and hot chocolate were served. The Costa Rican Embassy mascot “Tico-chan” and the Nagano Prefecture mascot “Arukuma” also made appearances to soothe the crowd.
After Ambassador Sussi Jiménez Núñez's greeting, she personally awarded prizes in the Costa Rican quiz show in which visitors participated.
This year marks the 90th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Japan and Costa Rica, and the two countries are expected to further deepen exchanges in many areas such as business, politics, education, research, and tourism.
