Andrew N. Parker

Senior Advisor United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

Andrew Parker has 30 years of combined professional experience in social development, economic research and planning, project management, and capacity development with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank (WB), the Australian government, and academe.

He is currently senior adviser at the UNDP in the Philippines. He held previous posts as principal social sector economist in the Pacific Department at ADB, with responsibility for labor market and employment issues across the Pacific. He joined the WB in Washington DC in 1991 and held various positions before moving to the Philippines as the Bank's program coordinator for social development. From 1996–1998, he was a lecturer in agricultural economics at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

He holds degrees in agricultural economics from the University of Pretoria (PhD.), and the University of East Anglia (MSc.), and in economics from University of College London (BSc.).
