Visiting Professor Asian Public Policy Program School of International and Public Policy Hitotsubashi University
Shinji Asanuma is currently Visiting Professor of Asian Public Policy Program, School of International and Public Policy, Hitotsubashi University. He served as Director of Planning and Budgeting of the World Bank in 1984-87 and, subsequently, as Country Director, Asia 1 Department in 1987-91, responsible for a number of South-Asian countries.
He was also an investment banker with Kuhn Loeb & Co. working as its Far East Representative in Tokyo, and a director and the head of its Tokyo Office, of S.G. Warburg from 1991 through 1996.
A graduate in economics of Hitotsubashi University (1961), his publications include A Quest for the Modern Economic Growth – An Essay on Global Economic Development, with Hirohisa Kohama, 2007, Keiso Shobo, Tokyo (in Japanese), Journeys toward Development: Narratives on Development Strategy and Policy, with Hirohisa Kohama, 2013, Keiso Shobo, Tokyo (in Japanese), The Face of ODA Tomorrow: End It or Mend It, with Hirohisa Kohama, 2017, Keiso Shobo, Tokyo (in Japanese) and a number of articles on Asian economies, international finance and international development assistance.

Fernando T. Aldaba
Professor of Economics Dean of the School of Social Sciences The Ateneo de Manila University The Philippines
Fernando T. Aldaba is currently Senior Fellow for Eagle Watch, the macroeconomic forecasting unit of the Economics Department. He was former Chairperson of the Economics Department from 2003 to 2009 and has been teaching undergraduate and graduate economics in the university since 1996.
His specialization includes macroeconomics, development and labor economics. His current areas of research are social protection, poverty, migration and services liberalization in the Philippines and ASEAN.
He has done consulting work with multilateral institutions like the ADB, WB and various UN agencies and government departments. He was former President of the Philippine Economic Society (2008) and is currently Board Member of the East Asia Economic Association.
Prof. Aldaba graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Engineering, cum laude in 1980 from the Ateneo de Manila University and a Doctorate degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines in Diliman in 1996.
